Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the Canzobytex knowledge center. To ensure a transparent and efficient partnership, we have compiled a comprehensive list of questions regarding our editorial workflow, financial terms, and legal obligations. Our goal is to provide clarity before you initiate a project, ensuring that both the client and our editorial team are aligned on expectations and deliverables.

If you cannot find the answer to a specific query here, please visit our Contact Page or review our Terms and Conditions for a detailed breakdown of our service agreement.

Ordering and Briefing

How do I start a project with Canzobytex?

The process begins with a request via our contact form. Once we establish initial contact, we request a detailed brief. A brief is a foundational document that outlines the goals, target audience, tone of voice, and specific requirements of the text. For those unsure how to prepare this, we provide a dedicated guide on how to write a brief for an author.

What happens after the brief is submitted?

Our content strategist reviews the brief to ensure all necessary information is present. If details are missing, we will contact you for clarification. Once the brief is approved, we provide a final quote and an invoice for the deposit. Work commences immediately after the deposit is received and the brief is signed off.

Can I request a custom package not listed on the services page?

Yes, we frequently tailor our services to meet specific corporate needs. Whether you require a unique combination of localization and corporate storytelling or a specific monthly volume of articles, we can draft a custom proposal. Please reach out to us at [email protected] for a personalized offer.

What information is mandatory in the brief?

At a minimum, we require the objective of the text, the primary target audience, the desired length (word count), any mandatory keywords or phrases, and the deadline. For interviews, we also require the profiles of the participants and the core themes to be discussed.

Do you provide consultations before the project starts?

We provide a preliminary alignment call or email exchange to ensure the project scope is realistic. This allows us to confirm that the requested industry falls within our expertise (we currently cover 12 industries) and that the timeline is achievable.

Deadlines and Delivery

What is the typical turnaround time for a project?

Our average turnaround for standard editorial tasks is 4 days. However, for larger projects or comprehensive corporate blogs, the standard delivery window is 7 days from the moment the deposit is paid and the brief is finalized. Complex localization projects may vary depending on the volume of words.

What happens if I need a text urgently?

We offer an urgent delivery service for projects that must be completed faster than our standard windows. Please note that urgent requests incur an additional fee of 50% of the total project cost. Availability for urgent tasks depends on the current workload of our 6 expert authors.

How is the final text delivered?

All final deliverables are provided in professional formats, typically DOCX or via Google Docs. Along with the final text, you will receive a version highlighting the changes made during the editing process, as well as optimized headlines and meta-descriptions for web-based content.

Do you guarantee a specific delivery date?

We commit to the delivery date specified in the project agreement. This date is contingent upon the client providing all necessary source materials and feedback within the agreed-upon timeframes. Delays in client feedback will result in a proportional shift in the delivery date.

What is the process for corporate interviews?

For corporate stories, we first coordinate the interview schedule. After the interview, we draft the story and send it to the interviewee for factual verification. The final version is delivered only after the participant has given their explicit consent for publication.

Revisions and Quality

How many rounds of revisions are included in the price?

Every project includes 2 rounds of revisions. A revision round consists of a consolidated list of changes requested by the client based on the original brief. Any requests for changes that deviate from the initial brief or additional rounds beyond the second will be billed as extra work.

What constitutes a "revision" versus a "new request"?

A revision is a correction of existing content to better align with the brief. A new request occurs when the client changes the project goals, target audience, or adds significant new sections that were not mentioned in the original brief. New requests are quoted separately.

What if I am not satisfied with the first draft?

We encourage detailed feedback. Instead of general comments like "it doesn't feel right," we ask for specific points that need adjustment. This ensures that the two included revision rounds are used effectively to reach the desired quality.

Do you provide proofreading as part of the copywriting service?

Yes, all texts produced by Canzobytex undergo a rigorous internal editing and proofreading process before the first draft is sent to the client. This ensures that the delivery is free of grammatical errors and adheres to the agreed-upon style guide.

Can I hire you only for editing a text I already have?

Absolutely. We offer a dedicated "Editing & Proofreading" service billed by the hour. This is ideal for refining internal documents, polishing blog posts, or ensuring a consistent voice across multiple authors.

Payments and Legal

What are your payment terms?

For all new projects, we require a deposit of 40% of the total estimated cost to secure the author's time and begin work. The remaining 60% is due upon delivery of the final approved text. For B2B clients, we offer a payment term of 30 days from the date of the final invoice.

Who owns the copyright to the finished text?

Exclusive rights to the text are transferred to the client immediately upon full payment of the project invoice. Until the final payment is made, the copyright remains with Canzobytex. Detailed information can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

How do you handle confidential information?

We treat all client data and internal corporate information with strict confidentiality. We are happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) if required. Our data handling practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy.

What happens if I cancel a project after the brief?

If a project is cancelled after the brief has been finalized and work has commenced, the 40% deposit is non-refundable as it covers the initial research and planning phase. If work has progressed beyond the initial phase, additional costs may apply.

How long do you keep my drafts?

We maintain an archive of project drafts and final versions for a period of 6 months after the project completion. After this period, files are permanently deleted from our systems to comply with data minimization principles.

Ethics and Limitations

What types of content do you refuse to write?

To maintain professional integrity and comply with legal standards, we do not produce: fake customer reviews or ratings, academic papers/essays for students, content regarding medical advice, financial/investment advice, or political campaigning materials.

Do you use automated tools or AI for writing?

Our value lies in human editorial expertise. While we may use basic digital tools for spell-checking and research, all content is conceptualized, written, and edited by our professional team. We disclose the use of any specific assistance tools in the project agreement if applicable.

How do you ensure the accuracy of corporate stories?

We rely on a strict verification process. Every quote and factual claim in a corporate story is cross-referenced with the interview recording and then sent back to the subject for final approval before the text is considered finished.

Do you provide translation or localization?

We specialize in localization and adaptation between English and French. Unlike literal translation, localization adapts the message to the cultural context of the target region (e.g., adapting content specifically for the Quebec market), ensuring the tone and intent remain intact.

Are your prices inclusive of tax?

Our listed prices include the applicable VAT (13% for the region). For transparency, we provide the price both including and excluding VAT in our service tables and invoices.

Still have questions? We are available Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (EST). You can reach us via email at [email protected] or call us at (514) 277-8535. We typically respond to all inquiries within 24 hours.
